Some fake posts circulating on social media show star footballer Lionel Messi posing with an Israeli flag. Other doctored images show the athlete carrying a Palestinian flag. Both versions are fake. In the original photos, taken before the conflict between Israel and Hamas erupted on 7 October, Messi is promoting sports memorabilia.
