Critical Thinking and News Literacy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence was held by the Idea Foundation on February 6, 2026, for teachers from Budapest and from the countryside The workshop supports the implementation of the InfoGrund News Literacy educational package in schools and provides teachers with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the pedagogical background and methodological tools of the learning material. Among the main points of connection between artificial intelligence literacy and news literacy, the training primarily aims to develop source criticism and the knowledge and skills necessary for verifying credibility.

During the workshop, teachers were able to try out the course materials and gain firsthand experience with creative news writing, with the assistance of journalist Vera Munk. At the end of the workshop, participants receive the full contents of the package: lesson plans, handouts, video supplements, and access to the online Hírműhely platform created for creative news writing.

The InfoGrund Hírműhely package, consisting of four sessions, conveys new knowledge to students through cooperative analysis of short videos. It deepens students’ knowledge and develops their basic skills (reading comprehension, writing, logical and critical thinking) through the complex practice of creative news writing. During the exercises, the teacher acts as a facilitator, supporting students’ creative and exploratory work with questions, guidance, and instructions.
